Imamzadeh Peer Omar was built nearly 400 hundred years ago and is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites of Kurdistan. The complex includes a mausoleum, mosque and family crypts belonging to famous Sanandaj families. The complex has three domed spheres, two of which are used as pilgrimage sites and one which is used as a mosque. The Imamzadeh has stained glass, mirrorwork and stucco decorations. The dome of the Imamzadeh has calligraphy inscriptions in the Banai hand.
