This lake is located 24 kilometers from Rasht on the road to Siahkal city. The lake sprung into existence behind one of Sefid Roud’s dams called Sangar. Sefid Roud or the “White River” runs a 670-kilometer course and is Iran’s second longest river after Karoun which flows through the city of Ahvaz in southern Iran. Sangar Dam was built to direct water to nearby farmlands and rice paddies. The natural landscape around this river attracts many nature enthusiasts every year.
