Located in the residence of nationalist hero and leader of the Forest Movement (1914-1921), Mirza Kouchak Khan (1880-1921), this museum is one of the popular tourist attractions of Rasht. The building is a 200-square-meter, two-story structure where Mirza Kouchak Khan was born. There are four rooms and one balcony on each level of the house. Two stairways on either side of the building connect the ground floor to the top level. The house was renovated in the 2000s and turned into a museum. The top floor of the museum houses the personal belonging of Mirza Kouchak Khan and the ground floor is a permanent exhibition of books about the history of Gilan and the Forest Movement. Pictures and documents from the Forest Movement era decorate walls throughout the house.
