The Textile Museum of the Fatemeh Masoumeh Shrine displays different handwoven silk, velvet, termeh and flax textiles as well as gold embroidered, Malileh(spring-like gold or silver thread) embroidered, crochet, and patchwork cloth. Some of the Safavid (1501-1722) cloths have Quranic verses woven into them and many have animal, floral and human motifs. The museum also has a precious cloth, which was once used to cover the Fatemeh Masoumeh tomb, and a piece of cloth embroidered with gold thread and with Nastaleeq inscriptions, which once covered the Kaaba.
