Located north of Lahijan city, Amir Kelayeh is a sweet water wetland which is only 1 kilometer from the Caspian Sea. This 1,230-hectare wetland has a depth of 1.5 meters. Amir Kelayeh is a bird watching destination and home to migratory birds such as swan, flamingo, pelican, duck, wild geese, Eurasian teal, coot, white-tailed eagle, and Eurasian widgeon in the colder months of the year. Amir Kelayeh is also home to several fish namely zander, wels catfish, pike, carp and tench. The notable plants of this wetland include water lily, lotus, and lemna.
