This old plane tree (sycamore) in Taq Bostan historical site is called the Rahmat (compassion) tree by Kermanshah locals. In local legend this tree is associated with the Farhad and Shirin legend and the Sassanid era (226-651 CE).This tree is approximately 600 years old and is 37 meters tall and has a girth of 8.5 meters. This tree has been registered as a National Natural Heritage.
