Built nearly 200 years ago in the Qajar era (1785-1925), Atiq is a traditional hotel close to many of Isfahan’s historical attractions including the UNESCO registered Naqsh-e Jahan Square along with the Isfahan Bazaar, Lutfollah and Shah (Imam) Mosques, Ali Qapu Palace and Jame Mosque.
Atiq is a traditional house which was converted into a hotel and has been registered as a National Heritage Site. Like all traditional homes Atiq has an Andarouni (interior), which was the private quarters used by women and servants, a Birouni (exterior), which was the public quarters mostly used by men, and living quarters for the servants, three Hashtis (vestibule) and long corridors. The house has eye-catching stained glass, subtle stucco relief and Muqarnas (ornamented vaulting) decorations as well as wall paintings.
The hotel has a rectangular Howz (pool) at the center of its small Persian garden where guests can sit on carpeted platforms, relax and enjoy a cup of tea after a long day of sightseeing.
Atiq has a total of 20 rooms that can accommodate varying numbers of guests. Rooms at this hotel come with safes, hairdryers, tea makers, television sets, minibars and en suite bathrooms. The hotel has a restaurant that serves a variety of Persian dishes. Atiq has a teahouse that is open in the summertime.
