One of the finest bridges in Isfahan, the Khaju Bridge is noted for its beautiful architecture and tilework. Built upon the order of the Safavid king Shah Abbas II (1632-1666), the bridge, which also functioned as a weir and regulated the flow of the river, has 24 arches and is 133 meters long and 12 meters wide. It is said that quicklime and egg whites were used as mortar in the construction of this bridge. There are octagonal pavilions in the center of the bridge where nobles once sat to watch the river and swimming matches.
Besides its undeniable beauty and amazing architecture, we really enjoyed the nightlife on this bridge. Especially when Zayandeh River flows underneath this bridge it becomes the favorite hangout place for both locals and tourists. Take a walk on Khaju and Sio-se Pol Bridges While visiting Isfahan and enjoy the scenery.
پل خواجو زمانی که آب در زاینده رود جاری باشه واقعا زیباست. به نظر من از سی و سه پل هم بهتره. ولی شهرت سی و سه پل بیشتره.
We went here after a long day visiting this amazing city sights, it was a really nice view especially at night when the yellow lights are on.
I recommend taking a walk beside the river from Sio-se-Pol to this bridge and enjoy the view.
