One of the three protected wetlands in Golestan Province, Alagul Wetland is located 60 kilometers from Gonbad-e Kavus. Alagul is home to 85 different bird species of which 19 are indigenous to the wetland and 66 migrate to the area during the winter. This wetland is also a great destination for water sports and fishing as it has a water depth of 2 meters.
