Chehel Dokhtar or Forty Girls Tower is a brick structure located west of Damghan behind Imamzadeh Ja’far. The tower resembles Toghrol Tower of Rey in Tehran Province and is 15 meters tall and 5.5 meters in diameter. Built by a jurist named Abu Shoja Isfahani in 1054, the tower has a Kufic inscription that is difficult to read. Given its name resemblance to the Chehel Dokhtar Tower of Semnan it is believed that this structure was originally built with mudbrick and was later renovated with bricks when a conical dome was added to it. Chehel Dokhtar Tower was registered as a National Heritage Site in 1931.
