Following the success of the Archeology Museum of Birjand, an Anthropology Museum was opened in the basement of Akbarieh Mansion in 1993. The items used in displays in this wax museum are only 100 years old. Wax figures in this museum demonstrate the lifestyle, traditions, culture, customs and professions of the people of the southern Khorasan region.
Displays at this museum are dedicated to wedding customs, agriculture and farming methods, basketry, pottery, apothecary, shoemaking, stone grinding, blacksmithing, medicine, hairdressing, yarn spinning and textile weaving.
