This historical house, which was the residence of the late Ayatollah Seyyed Ruhollah Khatami (1903 -1988) the Friday Prayers Leader of Ardakan and father of former Iranian President Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, was built in the Qajar era (1785-1925). The house has winter and summer Sedaris (three-door or –window bedroom) with stained glass decorations which open to a courtyard and its central pool (howz) and small garden. Ayatollah Khatami’s House is currently the location of the Personalities Museum of Ardakan and was registered as a National Heritage site in 2003.
