Lake Meiqan or Meighan is located in the northeast of Arak in Meiqan Desert. The water level in this salt water lake spikes during the fall and winter and its water evaporates turning it in to a swamp during the spring and summer. During the winter and fall the lake is home to migratory birds. Lake Meiqan is the biggest crane habitat in the country and a great place for bird watching
