Aghazadeh Mansion and its windcatcher(badgir) belong to Ghagar Dynasty. It is located in Abarkooh, Iran. This building has been registered as a historical monument with number 1838. Since 2015, the facade of this building has been portrayed on 20000 rial bills.
The northern room in this mansion is shaped like a cross. There is also a central courtyard with a big stone pool in the middle. The mansion has three different facades, making it possible for the residents of the building to live in different parts of the house based on the weather conditions in various seasons of the year.
The Badgir in this mansion is one of the most original and beautiful examples in Iran and all the world. It is 18 meters high and covers an area of 18 square meters. There are 19 air-adjusting vents in the portal of the Badgir which are in harmony and connection with the second windcatcher. This Badgir can do the air-adjustment even if there is no wind blowing. Unlike most Badgirs, this one is a two-story structure.
The belvedere in Aghazadeh Mansion has been decorated by mogharnas to let the light get in the building easily and make it look brighter.
