Abarkooh
City of the ancient Cedar Tree
The historical city of Abarkooh is located at the crossroads of Yazd, Isfahan and Shiraz, known as Iran's tourism triangle. The city houses up to 400 historical sites, of which 123 have been nationally inscribed.
Since the city was first built on the hillside of a mountain, people called it "Barkooh" which means near the mountain and then in the dialect it became Abarkooh.
