Shadegan Wetland and Wildlife Refuge consists of three wetlands namely Shadegan, Khor Mousa and Khor-al Amaya in southwestern Iran near the city of Abadan. The wetland covers an area of 328,000 hectares. So far 154 different bird species have been identified in this wetland. Popular among bird watchers, the notable birds of Shadegan Wetland include marbled duck, Iraq babbler, grey hypocolius, coot, Eurasian teal, common shelduck and flamingo.
