Salt Lake is part of the Great Salt Desert or Dasht-e Kavir at the heart of the Iranian plateau and is situated 62 kilometers east of Qom and 35 kilometers northeast of Aran and Bidgol City. This triangle-shaped lake is 80 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide. The lake only has water in the winter and in the summer its surface is covered with sheets of salt. The lake is also known as Qom Lake, Qom Salt Lake, Kashan Salt Lake and Masileh Lake. The geometrical shapes of the salt crystals of this lake create an unforgettable view particularly at sunset and sunrise.
