The Chabahar Telegraph House is the oldest modern building in this city and was built in 1864 by the British towards the end of the Qajar era (1785-1925). The building, which has tropical architectural elements, has been built in two stories. This Telegraph House was built to facilitate communication between India, Gwadar, Jask and Bandar Abbas. The Telegraph House has been registered as a National Heritage Site.
