Asef Vaziri Mansion, which has come to be known as the House of Kurd, is one of the most beautiful historical homes of Sanandaj. The house was built during the Safavid era (1501-1722) and improvements were added during the Qajar (1785–1925) and Pahlavi (1925-1979) eras. In the style of traditional Persian homes, the mansion has an Andarouni (interior), which was the private quarters used by women and servants, and a Birouni (exterior) which was the public quarters mostly used by the men. The Birouni includes one of the most beautiful historical baths of Sanandaj with its magnificent stone pillars which have delicate carvings.   The house is the location of the Anthropology Museum of the Kurdish people. The house is a registered National Heritage Site.
